The word warrior (literally) means someone engaged in warfare. Warrior (figuratively) refers to a person who shows great vigor, courage, or aggressiveness, as in athletics. (According to the Random House Dictionary). We are all Warriors at Winona State but this particular person possesses and portrays all forms of the word. He is one of the strongest men I know and I think that this photo portrays his strength and confidence. I like all of the lines and movement in this photo because they mirror him as a person and especially as an athlete. The railings on the gate provide a stable foreground in the photo but once you look beyond the lines, you are forced to look deeper into the image because off all of the lines and forms taking over the background. Your eyes become comfortable with following the pattern created but then you are struck with the image on the left side of the photo. You begin to question where, when and why this was taken.

Posted in 3 people/3 days/3 photos on September 5, 2008 by eadenetMy friend Kelsey is a 6 foot tall disaster waiting to happen. She has the biggest heart out of anyone I know, but words cannot begin to describe her personality. I think she is 1 in 2 million. She will tell you that she is crazy and openly admits she has ADHD which most people wouldn’t broadcast. She is a very interesting individual with an incredible source of energy (probably because she sleeps until noon almost everyday.)My roommates and I have been trying to figure this out for quite some time now, but when Kelsey wakes up in the morning her hair that is usually down to the middle of her back is in a huge knot on the top of her head. She claims she doesn’t roll around in her sleep or sleep walk but we have yet to find a reason to her and her hairs madness. I like the mystery is this photo, because at first you are startled by what you are looking at, which is exactly what you feel when you hear some of Kelsey’s comments- startled. Kelsey loves her long, dark hair and I thought it was fitting to take a picture of the mess that she wakes up to in the morning (herself included.)
Katfish

This is a picture of one of my roommates. She loves the outdoors and everything that has to do with wild life. We have a huge fish tank on our family room and every time Kate gets home from class, work or a trip to Target she stops to talk to/ watch the fish. She has named every single one of them (there are 6) and can tell them apart. To me they are all orange or black. She is one of the most intelligent people that I know when it comes to nature and all of its beings. The focus of this portrait is on Kate’s reflection in the tank, but in order to really capture what was going on I also had to wait for a fish to come closer to the sound of Kate going, “here fishy, fishy, fishy.” And eventually they would come to the self proclaimed Fish Whisperer.
